Ecodesk recently announced that 25 companies representing one million suppliers have joined its VIP Enterprise Innovator Program aimed at developing a clear and unambiguous business case for supply chain efficiency.
The campaign uses Ecodesk’s automated platform to profile firms’ top 50 to 500 suppliers’ energy use, GHG emissions, waste and water consumption without requiring suppliers to fill out questionnaires. Ecodesk will produce reports showing financial savings, risk mitigation, efficiency gains and environmental stewardship results businesses can expect from improving supply chain sustainability.
European high-speed rail service provider Eurostar has joined the program, along with gaming and hospitality company MGM Resorts, Del Monte Foods and healthcare giant GlaxoSmithKline, to name a few.
The program is accepting up to 50 organizations through March 31, according to the announcement.

Sometimes called the “LinkedIn of sustainability,” Ecodesk maintains what it claims to be the largest sustainability database in the world and allows users to search, analyze and compare suppliers from more than one million companies.
“This is the new economy where sustainability through the value chain has a resounding benefit in terms of profitability, business continuity and risk management,” said Robert Clarke, CEO of Ecodesk.
Another VIP Enterprise Innovator Program participant, software developer CA Technologies, was named one of the greenest companies in the U.S. by Newsweek in 2012.
